Law Practice

:

Laura is an experienced trial attorney who has litigated cases in the state courts of both Virginia and West Virginia.  She also represents clients in mediation, collaboration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution techniques.  Additionally, she is experienced at drafting contracts and complex real estate development documents.

Laura has extensive skills and experience in complex equitable distribution and other divorce issues. In addition to her years of litigation experience, she is trained in the collaborative process. She uses her collaborative skills to assist her clients as they work through the very difficult domestic relations issues.

Laura has also represented clients in all forms of real estate matters including real estate closings, purchase contract preparation, refinancing, subdivision, and development. She has broad knowledge of the formation, maintenance, and management of homeowners’ associations. Laura has worked with numerous developers and engineers in the creation of many housing developments. Additionally, she has worked with small business owners in organizing their businesses as limited liability companies and corporations.

Laura has extensive banking experience. She is a director of Allegheny Bancshares and the Pendleton County Community Bank.

Laura and her husband are involved in various community children’s athletic programs in which their children participate. She is an active member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, where she has served as Deacon, Trustee, member of various committees and commissions and as a Sunday School Teacher.
