Law Practice

Dale’s practice revolves around helping businesses organize and operate. He provides legal counsel and services in entity formation and governance matters, financing transactions, contracts and business asset transfers. He is the lead lawyer for the firm as general counsel to a large electric distribution cooperative and he provides ongoing counsel to a large community bank. In addition, a substantial part of his practice deals with insolvency cases, usually representing a secured creditor in a workout or bankruptcy, but occasionally handling Chapter 11 debtor’s work or representing insiders of troubled businesses. He has had a role in almost all the significant local reorganization cases during the past thirty-five years and is a co-author of the Virginia State Bar Bankruptcy Handbook.
