Larry Hoover was the 2005 recipient of the Tradition of Excellence Award presented annually by the General Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar to recognize “an outstanding lawyer who embodies the highest tradition of personal and professional excellence in Virginia.”

Often referred to as the “Father of Mediation in Virginia, Larry was awarded the Virginia ADR Founder Award in 2004. Now Of Counsel to the Firm, Larry maintains a limited general practice, teaches negotiation to law students and is actively involved in many community activities.

Experience  Certified general, family, circuit civil mediator, trainer and teacher of certified mediation training programs, Supreme Court of Virginia; Certified Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition; Member, McCammon Group, Richmond, Member, Virginia Supreme Court Advisory Committees on Mediation and the Unauthorized Practice of Law, Mediator Ethics and Mediation Legislation; Lifetime Achievement Award, Office of Executive Secretary, Virginia Supreme Court, ADR Visioning Conference, 2001;Adjunct Trainer, Baltimore Mediation Center; Member, Special Committee to Study the Code of Professional Responsibility; Adjunct Professor at Washington and Lee University School of Law, teaching Negotiation and Mediation.
