Dale Davenport’s practice revolves around helping businesses organize and operate.  In addition, a substantial part of his practice deals with insolvency cases, usually representing a liquidating bankruptcy trustee or a secured creditor, but occasionally handling Chapter 11 debtor’s work or representing insiders of troubled businesses.  He has had a role in almost all the significant local reorganization cases during the past twenty-five years.  He has been a frequent lecturer to bar groups on bankruptcy topics.  He is a co-Author of the Virginia State Bar Bankruptcy Handbook.  In addition, Dale continues to provide routine services for real estate matters and will drafting, primarily for friends and neighbors.  He is listed in Best Lawyers in America.

Law Practice Experience  Mr. Davenport began his practice handling small civil and criminal cases, including residential and commercial real estate work, collections, and domestic relations work.  He has had significant experience in land development projects.  He also provided services for many years to several small municipalities, covering governance and land use matters.  While in recent years his practice has concentrated on business matters for a number of regular clients, as well as a focus on a variety of federal and state insolvency cases, the extremely broad nature of his experience in years past gives him a better understanding of a wide variety of legal matters that often affect the more narrow areas in which he now practices.  For the most part, his work now involves counseling business clients, handling transactions for businesses and individuals in business, and insolvency litigation cases.
